I’m Steph Ferreira, founder of The Unicorn & Carrot, brand strategist, and someone who’s spent nearly 20 years helping brands of all shapes and sizes grow with purpose.

I’ve worked across iconic global names like Johnnie Walker, Coca-Cola, Peugeot, and Hotpoint, leading everything from high-impact campaigns to multi-million pound brand transformations. I’ve also supported independent creatives and small businesses, sometimes on budgets smaller than a decent dinner out. And that’s the point. Marketing doesn’t have to be big to be brilliant. It just has to be done with clarity, intention, and a little courage.

The idea for The Unicorn & Carrot was years in the making. During the Covid lockdowns, while on maternity leave and facing a 50% salary cut in the travel industry, I started my first business, Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow. It began as a way to help the creative people around me, many of them close friends, market themselves in a time of uncertainty. That experience showed me how powerful marketing can be when it’s accessible, flexible, and genuinely useful.

When life returned to normal, I stepped back into the corporate world and went on to lead brand and digital marketing in both global organisations and family-run businesses. But after two decades in the industry, I decided it was time to back myself.

The Unicorn & Carrot is the evolution of everything I’ve learned. Strategically, creatively, and personally. It brings together my TTL (through-the-line) marketing expertise to help local businesses and startups thrive, whether that’s through branding, lead generation, digital campaigns, or hands-on workshops.

Right now, it’s just me running the show full time. But I’m backed by a trusted network of creative and technical collaborators, and as the business grows, I plan to build a permanent team that reflects the values I care about most—diversity, inclusion, and opportunity for all.

Pubs were once the birthplace of many bold ventures, and I wanted to capture that same spirit: a warm, inspiring space where business owners come together to grow, share ideas, and chase big goals.

The unicorn represents the extraordinary—that rare magic you bring to your business every day.
